Who really matters?

There are a number of great ‘truths’ told to children by their schools which appear far from the truth in reality. One is “You can be anything you want to be” and another is “Your personal best is good enough”.

As we emerge from the latest round of public exam results, we might equally muse upon another mantra; that “Every child matters”. Do they?

Who protects our children?

The shocking case of Child Q happened nearly two years ago but are we confident that something similar will never happen again? And was it simply a case of police failings, or do questions of race, gender and school safeguarding also demand our attention?
